I’m Amy, the founder of our company and dogs have been at the heart of my life for as long as I can remember, even my first word was dog.

Growing up on a farm, surrounded by animals and family members who shared the same passion, I developed a natural understanding and love for dogs from an early age. From dog shows, agility, grooming and caring for working farm dogs.

Today, I bring over 17 years of professional experience within the canine industry to everything we do.

My experience spans hydrotherapy, grooming, daycare, kennels, training and canine nutrition, giving me a unique and well-rounded understanding of dogs, their behavior and their individual needs.

Over 17 years, I’ve worked with dogs of all breeds, ages, temperaments and personalities.

That experience has taught me that exceptional care is never about treating every dog the same.

It’s about knowing the dog in front of you.

Our approach is built around quality, safety, enrichment and individual care and creating an experience that both dogs and their owners can feel confident in.

A Passion Turned Into Something More

After years of working within the industry, I decided to take everything I had learned and create a service of my own one built around the standards I believe dogs deserve. My Nan played a huge part in that journey, supporting me throughout my courses and encouraging me to believe in what I could achieve.

Today I’m proud to have turned a childhood passion into a professional career and a business built on experience, trust and an uncompromising love for dogs. For us, looking after your dog isn't simply a service. It’s about giving you complete peace of mind, knowing your dog is in experienced, knowledgeable and genuinely caring hands.

Meet Jesse

The Man Behind the Scenes

Behind every great business is a great support team and Jesse is an important part of the PK9A family. As Amy’s partner, Jesse plays a key role behind the scenes, from invoicing and website development to marketing and the finer details that keep PK9A running smoothly.

He may not be with us every day, but you'll often spot him at weekends, especially when he's out and about with our resident dogs.

From Petrol Head to Dog Dad

Jesse was introduced to the PK9A world through Amy and, with a little help from the dogs, he's quickly becoming a true canine convert. He is currently developing his knowledge and practical skills with the team, with plans to support puppy classes and continue his professional dog-related training in the foreseeable.

The Creative Mind Behind the Brand

Away from PK9A, Jesse works full-time within the graphic design and signage industry, bringing years of creative and technical experience to the business. That passion has helped shape the PK9A branding and website.

But his real obsession? Anything with an engine.

Cars, bikes, planes or boats if it moves, Jesse is interested. And after a busy day, there’s nothing better than a proper Yorkshire brew. You’ll often find Jesse alongside Amy at weekends, with Cooper never far from his side.

Because sometimes, behind every good man, there’s an even better dog. 🐾
